“For many cyclists, the rules of the road don’t apply. You see it day in and day out. If motorists engaged in a similar level of behavior, we’d have carnage on our roads” –Robert Sinclair, spokesman for AAA (quoted in the NY Post, “Bike to the Future”. January 12, 2013)
I’m glad that Robert Sinclair is so concerned about road safety that he doesn’t realize we already do have carnage in the streets. Only 11 days into the New Year and already 9 people have been killed by motor vehicles on NYC streets.
I wonder if Robert Sinclair would like to offer an opinion on road safety and responsible driving to the friends and family of the more than 100 vulnerable road users killed by motor vehicles in 2012? In NYC alone.
